Who we are

Blank Canvas is dedicated to reshaping how individuals understand, talk about, and care for their mental health. We’re rooted in the belief that everyone has mental health and our goal is to educate and empower our community by raising awareness of the importance of mental wellness in everyday life. Through education, open conversation, and accessible resources, we equip individuals with the tools to strengthen their mindset, improve overall well-being, and take ownership of their mental health journey.

We focus on helping individuals understand and recognize the stages of mental health—Healthy, Reacting, Injured, and Ill—so they can respond with awareness, compassion, and appropriate support for themselves and others. By increasing understanding across these stages, we work to create a culture grounded in prevention, empathy, and resilience rather than reaction, misunderstanding, and shame.

At Blank Canvas, we believe mental health is not just the absence of illness, it is the foundation of how we think, feel, and function each day. Our educational programs and interactive community initiatives, aim to break stigmas, encourage honest dialogue, and promote proactive approaches to mental well-being.

Mission Statement

Blank Canvas is a mental health awareness nonprofit serving youth and adults in the 901 community. We create safe, honest spaces through education, storytelling, and open conversation to help individuals understand and care for their mental health. Our impact is breaking stigma, encouraging healing, and equipping individuals with the tools to rewrite their narratives and paint new possibilities for their mental wellness.

Vision Statement

A stronger, more connected 901 community where mental health is normalized, support is accessible, and every voice is heard, seen, and valued. Blank Canvas envisions a culture where healing is celebrated, stigma is erased, and mental wellness is woven into the fabric of everyday life.
